Weekly Wisdom
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming an integral part of modern business. Its potential to automate processes, optimize operations for increased profitability and support decision-making is invaluable. But what enables AI systems to have such wide applications is their ability to learn and expand, swiftly adapting to new situations and improving performance over time.
Advances in AI are transforming the economy. Behind the wave of AI innovation lies a less visible but important trend: the role of large technology firms across the AI supply chain. AI applications are becoming pervasive, integrating into various aspects of daily life and industries, with hopes to revolutionize the way we live and work. Specifically, generative AI (GenAI) is being adopted at a rapid pace. GenAI is a type of artificial intelligence that creates new content, such as text, images, music and code, based on learned patterns from existing data. Like humans learning through experiences, experimentation, and absorbing new information, AI develops its skills by analyzing vast amounts of data.
Over the 4th of July weekend, the “Big Beautiful Bill” (BBB) was signed into law, and here are a few specifics.
The gig economy has been steadily growing over the past several years, and by 2027, it’s expected that half of the developed world’s workforce will be part of it.[1] Gig work differs from traditional employment in that it’s typically short-term and project-based, offering greater flexibility in both work hours and location. Instead of being paid hourly or receiving a salary, gig workers are compensated for the specific tasks or projects they complete. Gig work is more common than you might think. Many of these jobs rely on digital platforms to connect workers with clients…
When planning for the financial and healthcare needs of older adults, it is often assumed that family members, such as children, grandchildren, or nieces and nephews, will be available to provide care and support. However, this assumption does not reflect the reality for a significant portion of the aging population. A growing demographic known as “solo agers” is frequently overlooked in these discussions. Solo agers are individuals who may have never married, are widowed, have no children, or are estranged from or geographically distant from their family…
July Focus on Wellness: Brain Health Month
There’s an old saying: “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” It suggests that once people are older and set in their ways, it’s difficult to teach them new skills or change their behavior. But we’re here to debunk that myth. In reality, adults can “rewire” their brains by exposing themselves to new experiences that promote learning and adaptation.
Just like we need to exercise our bodies, we must also exercise our minds. Taking on new mental challenges helps ignite cognitive function and keep our brains sharp. Some activities to stimulate your brain include signing up for a class to learn a new skill, reading a book on a topic that interests you, and getting high-quality sleep.
